The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management is a qualification for aspiring health and safety professionals. It is aimed at learners who are responsible for developing and applying health and safety procedures on a day-to-day basis in an organisation. The objective of the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management qualification is to develop occupational health and safety management skills for managers who have the authority and personal attributes to translate organisational strategy into effective operational performance.

This qualification reflects current practice in Occupational Health and Safety Management and allows learners to develop and expand their high-level understanding of occupational health and safety in the workplace.

Individuals successfully completing the diploma qualification will be eligible to apply for the Certified level of membership CertIOSH.

OTHM allows centres to choose any delivery method that suits learners’ needs, ensuring a fair and inclusive experience. Centres must avoid discrimination and promote equality. Guided Learning Hours (GLH) indicate the expected teacher-led or direct study time per unit.

To join the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management, you need:

  • A Level 6 qualification (like the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety) or an equivalent,
  • Or an honours degree with relevant experience in health and safety,
  • You must be at least 21 years old when the course starts.
  • If you have significant work experience in this field, you may also be considered, even without the above qualifications.

OTHM Level 7 diplomas are equivalent to master’s degrees on the RQF but are shorter (120 credits). To earn a full master’s, learners must complete a 60-credit dissertation with a university partner.
